Midfielders Sonny Bill Williams and Jack Goodhue will miss the match with calf and hamstring injuries, while flanker Sam Cane also has a hamstring problem.
First five Richie Mo'unga continues to nurse a shoulder issue, meaning Beauden Barrett will start at 10.
That could result in a potential debut for Josh Ioane, but coach Steve Hansen says that's only if he comes off the bench.
Steve Hansen says all the injured players will be fine for the World Cup opener.
