Two weeks of free procedures will be provided by Smile NZ , a joint initiative between Southern Cross Health Trust and the Dental Association.
Smile NZ want to provide 4000 people with free dental treatment over five years.
Southern Cross Health Trust chief executive Terry Moore says appointments are already filled - showing the high demand for dental care among low income adults.
He says treatment can be costly for adults as it is not covered by the public system.
