Labelled an "accidental skipper" in aftermath of sandpaper scandal, Tim Paine's cricket leadership now become part of Ashes folklore

Sledged as a "temporary captain" and labelled an "accidental skipper" in the aftermath of the sandpaper scandal, Australian cricketer Tim Paine's leadership has now become part of Ashes folklore

He's guided the visitors to an unassailable 2-1 series lead with a test to spare, meaning they've retained the urn in England for the first time since 2001.

Paine says others fought adversity to ensure they won by 185 runs at Old Trafford with Pat Cummins the bowling star, taking four for 43 from 24 overs.

The fifth test starts at The Oval on Thursday.
