Kiwi driver Scott McLaughlin believes good Pukekohe result this weekend will set him up for Bathurst

Kiwi driver Scott McLaughlin believes another strong showing at Pukekohe this weekend will set him up for a serious tilt at the Bathurst 1000 next month

McLaughlin holds a big lead in the Supercars Championship over Chaz Mostert and teammate Fabian Coulthard and has a record equalling 16 race wins.

He says they are on the same hard tyres they had at Adelaide, this weekend and then at Bathurst.
