Two people were flown to Southland Hospital after the rescue yesterday afternoon.
Police say all seven were treated for varying levels of hypothermia.
Coastguard Bluff acting president Glen Wilcox says sea conditions would have been choppy.
He says they're pleased everyone made it away from the scene safely and hopes they recover quickly.
