Traditional Maori bassinets are saving babies' lives

After earlier attempts to lower deaths by stopping bed sharing were rejected, Wahakura and Pepi-pods were introduced in 2005 - and rates of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy have dropped 29 per cent.
In the Australian Journal of Primary Health, researchers David Tipene-Leach and Sally Abel say the programme worked because it was designed by the target population.
