About 1am last Saturday, a man wearing a bandana fled with a small amount of cash from the Tay Street Night and Day.
And a BP station on Elles Road was hit about 8.15 on Tuesday night.
Both times people in the shop were threatened with a knife.
Detective Regan Fahey says they don't know if the cases are linked - but police will be making their presence felt in both places.
