Building organisations are developing a scheme to prevent companies and contractors offering low ball tenders for construction contracts

MasterBuilders is working on a voluntary accreditation scheme for commercial builders, which will confirm their capacity to complete a job.

Specialist Trade Contractors president Graeme Burke says it's to ensure clients have confidence the company can see out the works

He says it will benchmark companies for their commercial viability, their track record and ability to complete jobs of certain sizes and complexity.
