Strong winds forecast for Dunedin - could help crews working at the site of a scrub fire

Strong winds forecast for Dunedin - could help crews working at the site of a scrub fire

The blaze broke out in the Flagstaff area yesterday afternoon.

Additional helicopter and ground crews are back at the site this morning.

Air attack supervisor Graham Still says they are expecting westerly wind gusts of up to 40 kilometres an hour.

He says that will actually assist them as the wind should pick up any hotspots and ground crews will be able to hit them hard.
