The primary exports sector has hit another record high

The primary exports sector has hit another record high

MPI's latest situation and outlook report shows the primary sector accounted for 46.4 billion dollars worth of exports, out of a total 58 billion.

A large percentage of that was the dairy industry, which grew 1.4 billion dollars from last year.

Dairy companies' association executive director Malcolm Bailey says it's a sector that's hugely important to New Zealand.

He says it's important there are sectors like dairy that continue to grow and help the economy.
