Police say driver pursuits are highly charged, fast-changing incidents

The Independent Police Conduct Authority's released a report into a woman being struck by a fleeing driver in central Auckland last November.
The report found for "understandable reasons" three police vehicles passed the injured woman on Victoria Street West, before one stopped to assist.
District Commander Superintendent Karyn Malthus, says as soon as they were aware a person was hit they provided appropriate care.
The woman has recovered - and a 41-year-old man was charged with careless driving causing injury.
