Christchurch City Council's new boss... will start work before the end of the year

Dawn Baxendale's has been Chief Executive of the Birmingham City Council in the United Kingdom.

The Christchurch City Council has confirmed she'll start as CEO in mid-October - in time to lead the Council and Community Board induction programme.

The exact start date is yet to be finalised.

There's been some controversy over her 495-thousand dollar salary, which is 80-thousand more than that of the previous CEO.
