An independent economist's questioning whether the Government's long term economic plan is good enough

An independent economist's questioning whether the Government's long term economic plan is good enough

The International Monetary Fund's annual review of New Zealand notes strengthened employment growth, unemployment's below 4 percent, and wage growth has picked up.

Cameron Bagrie says overall, the local economy is in an OK position - but the long-term plan seems quite light.

He says the Government's increased spending to try to get the economy moving more.

Mr Bagrie says the million dollar question is whether more money will work - because businesses are already lacking confidence.
