A student at the biggest school in the country has been confirmed with measles

Rangitoto College has sent a message to parents and caregivers telling them a Year 9 student has been diagnosed with the disease.

The school has put preventative measures in place to attempt to stop the spread among its roll of more than 3200 students.

Year 9 students who aren't vaccinated have been told to stay home.

Students who have been vaccinated will need to show proof of their immunisation record at school today.
