A North Otago woman has appeared in court accused of deliberately poisoning her own toddler with eye drops, nasal sprays and antidepressants

The mother, in her 30s, faces seven counts of intending to cause grievous bodily harm by administering poison.
It's a rarely seen charge which carries a maximum of 14 years imprisonment.
She appeared before the Dunedin District Court this week, where she was denied bail and granted name suppression.
A family member confirmed to the Otago Daily Times, the child had been discharged from hospital.
