    Size matters on the US PGA golf tour, as scrutineers randomly tested players' drivers at this week's Safeway Open in California


    Several were deemed to be using non-conforming drivers from across the manufacturing spectrum, including brands such as Titleist, TaylorMade and Cobra.

    Some players are questioning the accuracy of the procedure, and have returned their drivers to manufacturers for re-testing.

    There are no suggestions manufacturers are making clubs beyond the game's rules, but clubs can creep beyond the allowed limits through normal use.
