    A fire fighter has been injured fighting a huge blaze at Wanaka's Diamond Lake


    Fire fighters are working to contain the scrub fire after being called to the area at 9.30 last night

    Four ground crews from Fire and Emergency and DOC and two helicopters have the blaze under control.

    A Fire and Emergency spokesperson says the injured firefighter has been taken to Wanaka Hospital as a precaution.

    He says the wind is likely to change today - which will see the fire blow back on itself.
