The Commerce Commission has filed High Court proceedings against an alleged horse transport cartel
17 October 2019
It's taking International Racehorse Transport New Zealand Partnership to court on charges of price fixing equine air freight services.
It formed a joint venture in 1989 with a competitor - which included a pricing structure for services they previously competed for, and a profit-sharing clause.
The arrangement remained until last October, with key details, including pricing, re-negotiated and updated.
The Commission alleges that amounted to cartel conduct.
