New Zealand First is to make a policy announcement, at the party's annual conference
20 October 2019
It's the second day of the party's AGM in Christchurch, where leader Winston Peters has already come out swinging.
His opening speech yesterday made headlines for its attacks against the ailing MediaWorks, the National Party and his Coalition partners.
New Zealand Herald political reporter, Boris Jancic says Peters will today announce the party's new president after the departure of Lester Gray.
He says it's after Gray resigned in August after refusing to sign off on financial records - citing that he hadn't been told enough about the party's donations and expenses.
Peters is also expected to make a policy announcement this afternoon.
