The Kiwi's win was in doubt after it was alleged his DJR Team Penske teammate Fabian Coulthard slowed after a safety car was called with 25 laps remaining, allowing McLaughlin to extend his advantage.
Supercars officials have declared McLaughlin the winner, however Coulthard and co-driver Tony D'Alberto have been relegated from sixth to 21st in the overall standings.
They've also copped a $250,000 fine, though 100 grand of it has been suspended until the end of 2021.
Penske's also lost 300 teams' championship points, but still holds a 423 point lead.
