An increasing number of students are vaping during school time, with children as young as 10 taking up the habit

In a recent Cancer Society survey, half of 320 primary and secondary schools in Auckland and Northland reported students vaping at their schools.

Eight percent of primary schools said there had been incidents with pupils using vaping devices.

The Cancer Society's Northland spokeswoman, Rebecca Gilbert, says vaping is designed to look glamorous, which makes it increasingly attractive to young people.
