Temperatures for much of eastern New Zealand's forecast to hit the mid-teens on Saturday - jumping to mid-20s on Sunday.
MetService forecaster Lewis Ferris says it's largely due to a major shift in wind directions.
He says a cold South-Westerly flow has been lingering, but that'll switch into a North-Westerly.
But Ferris says it's not all sun.
A heavy rain watch is in place for Fiordland, which is expected to ease as it moves up the South Island through to Monday.
