Might Justin Lester regain the mayoral chains in Wellington?

Might Justin Lester regain the mayoral chains in Wellington?

    One commentator believes so.

Lester's called for an official recount, after being beaten by Andy Foster by just 62 votes.

He says there's a strong case that votes ruled invalid should be included, which could change the results of the election.

Massey University politics lecturer Dr Andy Asquith says Lester is quite right to apply for a recount.

He says there would be more scrutiny of votes that were initially cast aside.

Dr Asquith believes Lester will be mayor of Wellington this term.
