Landlords have five years to address dampness in their properties

New census results by Stats NZ show one in five homes are damp some or all of the time.
Dampness was twice as common for renters as it was for home owners.
Renters United spokesman Robert Whitaker says landlords should start improvements well before the 2024 Healthy Homes standards come into effect.
He says landlords have five years to improve their properties, or five years to twiddle their thumbs.
