A National Party meeting is underway at the Pakuranga Golf Club, in Auckland to decide its Botany MP candidate for the 2020 general election

A National Party meeting is underway at the Pakuranga Golf Club, in Auckland to decide its Botany MP candidate for the 2020 general election

It's thought former Air New Zealand boss Christopher Luxon is a front-runner for the position.

He officially put his name in the ring early last month.

The seat is currently help by independent MP Jami-Lee Ross - who left the National party amidst controversy late last year.

Party members will vote with the winner named by the end of the night.
