It's thought former Air New Zealand boss Christopher Luxon is a front-runner for the position.
He officially put his name in the ring early last month.
The seat is currently help by independent MP Jami-Lee Ross - who left the National party amidst controversy late last year.
Party members will vote with the winner named by the end of the night.
