    Female athletes could be at risk from a 'male-based' approach to sports training

    ACC research shows the number of 15-19-year-old girls having ACL reconstruction surgery has more than doubled.

    The study says female athletes are five times more at risk of an ACL injury than men, because of their different anatomy and bio-mechanics.

    ACC injury prevention specialist Natalie Hardaker says there is often no distinction in training for different anatomies, and there should be.
