Netflix is competing with an onslaught of new streaming services by... raising their prices

Netflix is competing with an onslaught of new streaming services by... raising their prices

Kiwi subscribers will start paying $16.99 a month in December for the standard plan, making it four dollars more than its nearest competitor.

Apple TV has launched globally this month - at eight dollars 99 a month - with Disney kicking off next week at nine dollars 99 a month.

Standard plans for local offerings Lightbox and Neon remain at 12.99 and 11.99 respectively.

Netflix says the drastic price rise pays for new content.
