A teen says he told his mother not to come home - out of fear a Dunedin doctor would hurt her

Venod Skantha's trial continues - where he's charged with murdering 16-year-old Amber-Rose Rush.

A teenage associate of Skantha's has returned to the stand today.

He says he spent an uneasy night with Skantha in Balclutha - after he claims the doctor admitted killing Amber-Rose.

The teen says Skantha threatened to kill his entire family - even the cat - if he told anyone.

The boy says when he finally got home - he immediately called his family members to warn them.
