A rise in the number of hospital staff being abused and assaulted

DHB figures show hundreds of cases of staff receiving death threats and being punched and abused.
New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association national secretary Dr Deborah Powell says most incidents are fuelled by drugs and alcohol, but that doesn't make it ok.
Powell says medical staff feel threatened and the increasing violent behaviour towards them, crosses a line.
