Calls for companies to increase gender parity in boardrooms

Calls for companies to increase gender parity in boardrooms

The latest annual Census of Women on Boards shows the proportion of women increased by 1.8 percentage points from last year.

Almost half of the country's 100 largest companies are on formal notice to fully diversify their boards.

AUT Professor Dr Judy McGregor says the number of women has stalled - because it's only increasing by a small margin each year.

She says she expects it to take a decade until we reach gender parity, which is unacceptable.
