A scare for England allrounder Ben Stokes after being struck in the nets by a teammate

A scare for England allrounder Ben Stokes after being struck in the nets by a teammate

Paceman Jofra Archer hit Stokes on the hand ahead of the first cricket test starting on Thursday against the Black Caps in Mount Maunganui.

Stokes left the nets immediately after the blow, but opener Dominic Sibley says he recovered quickly.

Breakers owner Matt Walsh is defending the way he runs the club, stating it wouldn't exist without his involvement.

The club's culture has been criticised following three off-court indiscretions in a week.

Previous coaches and former Tall Blacks believe it's gone away from a family friendly culture that was successful under previous owners Liz and Paul Blackwell.

The Auckland Tuatara management are still getting their heads around the passing of one of their players.

Third-baseman Ryan Costello was found dead in his Massey University room, having been in the country for just a week ahead of the start of the Australian Baseball League season.

Manager Steve Mintz says they could never have prepared for this situation.
