    Avid gardeners are being warned to protect themselves against Legionnaires' disease, with three confirmed cases in the Tasman region this past week


    The illness starts with flu symptoms which can lead to pneumonia and sometimes death.

    The disease-causing bacteria can be found in potting mix and compost.
