Todd, on a hot streak of form after winning his last two starts, has been forced to settle for fourth at the latest event in Georgia.
He took the overnight lead in, but carded a two-over 72 to slip out of the reckoning.
Compatriot Tyler Duncan has won the tournament on the second hole of a playoff over 2012 US Open champion Webb Simpson.
Kiwi Tim Wilkinson finished in a share of 30th.
Meanwhile, Korea's Sei Young Kim has won the LPGA Tour's Tour Championship in Florida.
Kiwi Lydia Ko struggled to a three over 75, finishing tied for 53rd on four over par.
