An Auckland Council report shows housing affordability in the city has improved 26 percent since 2015

The council's chief economist, David Norman says looser planning restrictions, the foreign buyers ban and wage growth have all played a part.
But, he says he wouldn't go as far as saying housing is affordable.
He says the median house price is around 850-thousand-dollars.
