Police still appealing information after a woman sustained serious facial injuries from flying object when driving near Luggate

The woman was 2 kilometres south of Luggate, near Wanaka, when what Police describe as an old brass diesel cap hit her, around 3.30 in the afternoon.

It smashed through her window, and Police are trying to work out where it came from.

They're wanting to speak to anyone who may have seen it on the road, or coming off a passing vehicle.

Anyone with dash-cam footage taken along the Luggate-Cromwell Road, or any information that could help is urged to call 10-5 .
