Ardie Savea's to miss a chunk of Super Rugby season due to knee injury

All Blacks loose forward Ardie Savea's confirmed he will miss a chunk of next year's Super Rugby season due to a knee injury suffered in the semi-final defeat to England at the World Cup in Japan

He's posted the news to Instagram, suggesting he'll be out for five to six months.

England cricket captain Joe Root's scored his first test century in more than nine months, ending a 15-innings drought.

The visitors are 269 for five in reply to New Zealand's 375 as they try to level the series.

33-year-old Yasir Shah's become the oldest Pakistani to score a maiden test century, making 113 in the first innings of their day-night match against Australia at Adelaide.

Pakistan are 39 for three in their second innings, 248 runs from making the hosts bat again.

Two second half goals in four minutes have given the Wellington Phoenix a 2-1 upset over Adelaide in football's A-League.

Despite having 26 shots for the match, they failed to convert until the 67th minute, by which time their hosts had already scored.

The result moves the Phoenix off the bottom of the ladder into ninth.

A couple of draws in English Premier League football action.

Norwich City and Arsenal finished at 2-all and Wolves and Sheffield United ended 1-all.

Lewis Hamilton has dominated the finale to the Formula One season.

The already-crowned world champion eased to victory from pole position at the Abu Dhabi grand prix - his 11th win of the season.

New Zealand's finished the track cycling World Cup in Hong Kong with seven medals.

Tom Sexton and Campbell Stewart have secured silver in the madison and Corbin Strong has taken bronze in the scratch on the final day.
