New Zealand's biggest import of the year was crude oil from the United Arab Emirates

New Zealand's biggest import of the year was crude oil from the United Arab Emirates

Stats NZ figures show 2.7 billion dollars of oil was imported from the Middle Eastern country in the year to September.

The oil is processed at Northland's Marsden Point Refinery into fuels, bitumen for roading, and other products.

Stats NZ says the average person uses 12-hundred litres of petrol and diesel a year.
