Auckland Council has filed 17 charges against the trio, relating to discharge of wastewater from Formosa Golf Club in Beachlands.
The cases carry a maximum penalty of two years' prison, a 300-thousand dollar fine, or a 600-thousand dollar fine for a company.
The council says the issue dates back several years, and this action is a final resort.
