Christchurch has spoken - and wants a new stadium

The city council has signed off on a 472 million dollar investment for a new multi-use stadium.

Its also asked for 220 million dollars from the government's Christchurch regeneration fund.

Crusaders CEO Colin Mansbridge says public support has been extremely strong.

He says they were receiving comments saying Christchurch didn't feel like a city without a decent stadium.
