A boat sailed across an Auckland motorway and stopped traffic earlier this evening

A boat sailed across an Auckland motorway and stopped traffic earlier this evening

Police were called to a crash between a car and a utility vehicle towing a large boat shortly before 7.

The boat, Te Namu, sailed free from its trailer and skidded on to the road.

This was between the Gilles Rd and Market Rd on ramps.

Fire and Emergency also responded to the crash, which blocked the motorway but caused no reported injuries.
