Police are appealing for information after a suspicious building fire in Hamilton's CBD at the weekend

Police, and Fire and Emergency were called to the address on Victoria Street on Sunday afternoon.

The fire spread to the second floor and roof of the building, gutting the upper floor and causing part of the roof to collapse.

Police have CCTV footage of a man who may have been involved in the incident.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the fire.
