    Tim Payne's the latest beneficiary of a proactive attitude from the Wellington Phoenix when it comes to keeping players


    The 25-year-old midfielder's extended his contract with the club through to the end of the 2021-22 A-League football season.

    Payne is the fourth player in three days to receive a new deal, along with captain Steven Taylor, Alex Rufer and Jaushua Sotirio .

    Payne is pleased the club's locking players down.
