Australian's are soaking up light showers and cooler temperatures in some parts of the country

Scattered showers are expected to continue on New South Wales fire grounds until tomorrow.

In Victoria, a drizzle of rain has offered some respite - but 14 active fires are continuing to burn across the state.

Forecaster Gabrielle Woodhouse says the rain's not widespread - but at least there's some falling from the sky.

Temperatures are set to increase again in the coming days, making for another dangerous weekend.
