Amanda Anisimova and Genie Bouchard have produced the match of the tournament in their ASB Classic quarter final

Amanda Anisimova and Genie Bouchard have produced the match of the tournament in their ASB Classic quarter final

18-year-old Anisimova is through to a dream semi-final against top seed Serena Williams after outlasting Bouchard 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.

The French Open semi finalist repelled a rejuvenated Bouchard who belied her ranking of outside the top 200, showing the sort of form that took her to number five in the world in 2014.

Meanwhile qualifying begins today for the men's ASB Classic with Kiwis Ajeet Rai and Rhett Purcell facing top 100 players in the first round.
