South Waikato's mayor is confident Putaruru will bounce back after the town's sawmill went into receivership

South Waikato's mayor is confident Putaruru will bounce back after the town's sawmill went into receivership

More than 60 employees were made redundant yesterday at Putaruru's Pacific Pine.

They claim they were given no notice the company was entering voluntary administration.

Mayor Jenny Shattock says any job loss in a small town is significant.

She says it's a close knit community, and people will support each other.
