    New Black Spoke Pro Cycling Academy team gets first season underway with stage win at NZ Cycle Classic in the Wairarapa

    The new Black Spoke Pro Cycling Academy team has got its first season underway in style, opening with a stage win at the New Zealand Cycle Classic in the Wairarapa


    Aaron Gate, also the race's defending champion, claimed the opening 122km stage in a sprint finish up Lansdowne Hill, posting a time of two hours 49 minutes and 41 seconds.

    Australian Jensen Plowright claimed second and Dylan Kennett third.

    Racing continues tomorrow with a 121km stage.
