A warning from Tukituki MP Lawrence Yule against undermining adventure tourism

A warning from Tukituki MP Lawrence Yule against undermining adventure tourism

It comes as Gannet Beach Adventures, who operate at Cape Kidnappers, have been asked by the Department of Conservation to shut up shop.

DOC says it was informed of a significant rockfall hazard near Black Reef within the Cape Kidnappers Gannet Reserve on Tuesday - and visitor safety is their top priority.

Yule says adventure tourism always has a degree of risk but we need to make sure we get the balance right.

He says the business has operated for 68 years and they've never had an incident regarding rock fall.
