There could be large changes to the men's ASB Classic, in a bid to draw bigger names to the Auckland tournament

The Herald reports the changes could include sets being reduced to first to four games, instead of the traditional six, or a no-advantage rule being introduced into singles, as is used in doubles.

Tournament director Karl Budge wants to reduce the amount of time players have to spend on court, reducing the workload in the build-up to the Australian Open.

While most players want to play the week before the grand slam, players who make the final in Auckland often struggle to re-charge for best-of-five-set matches just two days later in Melbourne.
