A massive IT upgrade - to boost internet access for 200 schools

Education Minister Chris Hipkins says the days of relying on an overhead projector and a photocopier are well and truly gone.

He says schools use more digital technology every day - and need good wifi, hardware and infrastructure.

Crown-owned Network for Learning will become schools' internet helpdesk.

Hipkins says its involvement in the upgrade will make it more planned, better value for money, and faster.
